Construction of the Park Lane Mews Hotel and Associated Residences

Background

As you may be aware, the proposals for the development of the Park Lane Mews Hotel and Associated Residences were approved by Westminster City Council in February 2023.

The approved plans will:

  • Retain the long-standing hotel use in line with Council policy and create a quality 82-bedroom boutique hotel.
  • Significantly improve the appearance of the hotel, befitting its location in the West End, Mayfair Conservation Area and proximity to listed buildings.
  • Restore and enhance the Grade II Listed building at 36Hertford Street.
  • Reconfigure and extend the existing building at 37Hertford Street to create modern residential accommodation.
  • Activate the vacant buildings and surrounding area with significant investment, which should help deter existing instances of anti-social behaviour in the area.
  • Introduce new greening and enhance the public realm.
  • Improve energy performance and reduce CO2 emissions.
  • Increase local spending with hotel guests shopping in Market Mews and other local shops.

Since the application was approved, our team has been progressing detailed plans to finalise the construction programme, with initial activity on-site expect to begin imminently. As part of this, we will be submitting a Site Environmental Management Plan (SEMP) to Westminster City Council. The SEMP will outline how our contractors, DE Group Contracting (DEGC), intend to manage and undertake the proposed works, including traffic management and vehicle routes, noise mitigation, site working hours and community relations.

We are highly aware of the level of interest and sensitivity surrounding construction in the local area. During the demolition and construction stages our contractors, DEGC, will ensure our neighbours are informed of activity on the site and hold meetings for those who wish to understand our progress in more detail.
